Where mindfulness meets the mat…

The London Yoga Therapy Centre is redefining wellbeing across our diverse population.

Founded by Dr Sangeeta Mittal, dually trained as a yoga teacher and medical doctor, our centre serves as a bridge for community-based healing beyond the prescription. She is an experienced specialist yoga teacher and certified Yoga4 Health Yoga in Healthcare Alliance therapeutic yoga provider, working with the NHS and accepting self-referrals and referrals from the private sector.

Our centre is rooted in agency and curiosity, offering a sanctuary to tend to your mind-body-breath connection.

We harmonise timeless intuitive movement with neuroplasticity and evidence-informed science, debunking the myths and ensuring a post-lineage practice that is both trauma-informed and steeped in timeless ancient wisdom.

Through interoceptive and proprioceptive cues, we help you navigate your window of tolerance with care. Our one-to-one sessions focus on:

  • Establishing a therapeutic alliance bespoke to you.

  • Applied somatic counselling to guide movement.

  • Co-regulation through compassionate inquiry and mindful conversation.

  • Clear boundaries that allow you to explore breath and movement safely.

Whether you are navigating psychological trauma, health and wellbeing challenges, a fertility journey, life milestones, or seeking to deepen your awareness and shift your relationship with your body, we invite people from all backgrounds, who identify as they wish and meet you exactly where you are.

Reframe your journey towards resilience and discover an authentic sense of wellbeing.

What to expect

Every Yoga therapy programme begins with a comprehensive, complimentary intake session.

During this initial appointment, your yoga therapist will take time to listen to understand your personal journey, including your bio-psycho-social and physical health, breath assessment, your current lifestyle, and any relevant background, along with your goals and expectations.

This inquiry is the foundation of your care. We will then develop a bespoke therapeutic plan tailored to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

“I am a proud Londoner and spent a decade training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in hospitals across London, Kent, Surrey & Sussex, and then working in the pharma-oncology medicines sector. But the roots of my yoga journey reach back to my early twenties, when I was in the foothills of the Himalayas, working as a doctor in a women’s ashram. It was there, surrounded by stillness and strength, that I was introduced to Hatha yoga and began my first yoga teacher training.”

  • "Sangeeta created space to comfort, support and help us process the trauma of losing a baby. She encouraged us to engage with our hospital team and was sensitive to what we needed."

    PM and family

  • "Yoga with Sangeeta was great when I was undergoing treatment in hospital for breast cancer. She was very knowledgeable and I felt reassured and less alone when I saw her regularly for 6 months during my yoga sessions."

    JK

  • "'As a yoga teacher struggling with joint problems after the menopause, I met with Sangeeta, because she was recommended to me as a former doctor. I was not disappointed. I'm so grateful she exists and I wish more yoga teachers understood how to support their clients when they are facing health challenges."

    VK

  • "Yoga with Sangeeta has been a great support whilst I returned to work after cancer diagnosis and treatment. It gave me good tools to manage my menopausal symptoms after breast cancer."

    HM

    TA

  • "It is so amazing to have Sangeeta who is so knowledgeable and kind. I signed up to yoga teacher training after some sessions with her, because I want to help my local community the way she helped me."

    HP

  • 'Sangeeta is really gifted, she understands me well. I felt very comfortable from the first session and she always took into consideration anything I wanted to talk about. There's so much information out there and she helped me debunk a lot of things I was unclear around. She’s definitely been the first yoga teacher I've engaged with who's helped me feel more confident in my body and understand my limitations. I loved her tips for coping with the menopause!"

    AM

  • "I met Sangeeta during yoga teacher training and she made me feel confident and competent to teach yoga safely. I am 70! And I now teach a weekly class in my Mum's care home. They love it. Lots of stretching and strengthening."

    SS

  • "Sangeeta's background as a doctor for women, before advancing her yoga skills, make her knowledgeable and I feel safest when I book sessions with her over the years. She always understands how to connect with me to make me feel better."

    HJ

  • "If you want a yoga teacher who has great links with the medical community in London, Sangeeta is great. She is knowledgeable, practical and great at providing sessions which felt specific to addressing my goals. I have really enjoyed my yoga sessions with Sangeeta and plan to book more in my next pregnancy. I recommend her to all my friends!"

    PK

  • "I love Sangeeta's voice and pace. It was lovely attending for yoga sessions with her. Her nidras are amazing. I wish I could record her voice! It's like magic."

    LO

  • "It is hard to know where to send people, so I refer all my patients to Sangeeta. Having worked with her in hospitals when we trained together, I could not recommend her highly enough. She's such a sweet fun person. My patients are always happy and speak highly of the time she affords them, on the phone, online and in person, for yoga sessions."
