Peer-reviewed research papers from LYT Centre Founder Dr Sangeeta Mittal
Dr Sangeeta has written several articles and studies on oncology in medical journals. Here is a selection of pieces:
Qualitative research in breast cancer
This is a NICE recommendation, co-authored by Dr Sangeeta, for the NHS funding of two cancer drugs – everolimus and sunitinib – for adults with advanced, growing neuroendocrine tumours of the pancreas, plus everolimus alone for similar tumours starting in the gut or lungs.
Dr Sangeeta also co-authored this article for PubMed on the two drugs.
Treating menopausal symptoms in breast cancer survivors
Dr Sangeeta co-authored this study of 113 women taking tamoxifen – a hormone therapy drug – which found hot flushes and night sweats were near-universal and affected sleep, mood and body image. She also co-authored this study on why some women stop taking tamoxifen, where side effects were the main reason given.
